
Riverwalk Ambulatory Surgery Center Mobile Messaging Privacy Notice Effective Date: 06/15/2026
This Mobile Messaging Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes how (“ASC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information related to SMS/text messaging communications sent through the SIS Complete platform operated by Surgical Information Systems (“SIS”).
Surgical Information Systems (SIS) is an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) that provides the SIS Complete platform and facilitates secure communications on behalf of Riverwalk Ambulatory Surgery Center, the healthcare provider and end-sender of record.
This Notice applies specifically to SMS/text messaging communications associated with the ASC’s patient care coordination, operational workflows, and related services.
Information We Collect
We may collect and maintain the following information in connection with SMS communications:

Mobile phone numbers

Message delivery and confirmation information

Appointment and procedure communication preferences

User account contact information for authorized workflow participants

Limited message response content necessary to support operational communication SMS messages are used only for authorized healthcare-related and operational purposes.
How We Use SMS Communications
The ASC may send SMS/text messages for the following purposes:
1. Patient communications related to upcoming procedures, including:

Arrival instructions

Pre-operative guidance

Completion of required intake or pre-op forms
2. Post-procedure communications, including:

Follow-up instructions

Recovery-related information

Satisfaction or recovery surveys
3. Operational notifications to authorized workflow participants, including: o ASC staff

Workflow updates and schedule notifications
4. Visit- or procedure-related financial reminders, including estimated amounts due at time of service.
5. Secure portal notifications and secure links related to the surgical visit, including access to:

6. Care coordination notifications to a patient’s designated caregiver, authorized pickup contact, or authorized representative.
All medical records, financial details, and protected account information remain behind secure authentication and are not transmitted directly within SMS messages.
Consent to Receive Messages
Patients provide written consent to receive SMS communications from Riverwalk Ambulatory Surgery Center in connection with their care, surgical visit, or related operational communications.
Caregiver/authorized pickup contacts and authorized representatives receive messages only when their contact information is provided by the patient and the patient authorizes such communications.
Authorized workflow participants receive workflow-only SMS notifications after:

being provisioned an SIS Complete account by the ASC, and
-
voluntarily providing and opting in with their mobile number.
Message frequency may vary depending on patient activity, scheduled procedures, operational workflow participation, and communication preferences.
Two-Way Messaging
Certain SMS messages may allow limited responses, such as:

appointment confirmations,
-
operational acknowledgments, or
-
brief care coordination communications.
Two-way texting, when enabled, is limited to operational and healthcare-related purposes and does not include marketing or promotional content.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Mobile information, SMS opt-in data, and text messaging consent information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
All categories of information described in this Notice exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties except as necessary to facilitate the secure delivery of SMS communications or as otherwise required by law.
The ASC may utilize trusted service providers, vendors, and platform providers, including Surgical Information Systems (SIS), solely for the purpose of supporting secure healthcare communications, operational workflows, and related services.
Security
SMS communications are facilitated through secure systems and controlled workflows designed to support patient privacy and operational security.
Links delivered through the SIS Complete system utilize the secure siscomplete.cloud domain and ASC-specific subdomains. Certain communications may also include secure links to authorized billing or statement portals operated by trusted vendors.
Because SMS is not always a fully encrypted method of communication, patients should avoid sending sensitive personal, financial, or medical information through text message unless specifically directed through a secure authenticated portal.
Opting Out
Recipients may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to a message, where supported, or by contacting the ASC directly.
Operational workflow recipients may also manage SMS notification preferences within their SIS Complete account settings, where applicable.
